Appointments

Routine Appointments

Appointments for GP's, Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants are opened for patients to book months in advance. This works well for patients in order to plan an appointment around their schedule for problems which do not require urgent medical attention. These appointments are also useful for follow up, so that when asked to return to see a GP, the patient is able to plan this ahead, and book appointments on a Wednesday and Thursday starting at 07:30am and our last bookable appointment Monday to Thursday is at 17:20pmnand on a Friday, 16:20pm. You can book appointments online, over the telephone or in person at the Surgery.

Emergency Appointments

If however you feel that you need to see a Doctor that day for an illness, you will be informed that a Doctor will triage this request. This means that a Doctor will telephone you back at some point that day, and discuss your symptoms. After this telephone call, if it is decided that you need to be seen, you will be offered an appointment later that same day. We do not have the facility for patients to book to see a Doctor that day without having a triage call. After reviewing our appointment system, we find that many of the patients who are in the telephone triage lit are able to have their problem dealt with over the telephone and do not need to attend the Surgery.

Telephone Consultations

The GP's are happy to talk to you on the phone. Please leave your telephone number and a brief message with a member of the admin staff. The Doctor will phone you as soon as they are available after your call. Please make all calls for the telephone consultations before 11am when possible.

Home Visits

Our Doctors can see four patients at the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reaosn, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. Almost all conditions can be reviewed at the Surgery.

However, we can visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend the Surgery. Please phone before 10am to arrange a visit and let the receptionist know the nature of your condition in order that the GP can prioritise the urgency of your visit. Your request for a home visit will be triaged by the Doctor, who may call for further information to decide if a house call is necessary.
